Camp Jam Overnight - For the More Serious Musician:

Camp Jam Overnight takes the Camp Jam curriculum to the next level. Band practices are longer, and groups have the opportunity to develop mulitple songs and dig deeper into the catalog of the bands and music they love. More advanced instrument instruction helps serious players apply their ability in a band setting. Additional master classes give young rockers more time with up-and-coming indie bands who are out on the road, as well as more opportunities to pick the brains of our celebrity rock star veterans.

A Focus on Creativity through Songwriting:

An intensive focus on songwriting really sets Camp Jam Overnight apart. Jammers have the oppportunity to learn how the greats approach crafting a song, and the chance to apply those techniques to their own budding ideas. From lyric writing to chord theory to the importance of melody to the importance of song structure, Camp Jam Overnight's songwriting curriculum helps aspiring songwriters realize their ideas more fully.

Evening Schedule:

Evenings at Camp Jam overnight begin with an additional band practice, at which jammers can stretch out and try ideas that might not fit in to the regular afternoon rehearsals. Open jams give musicians the chance to work with each other outside the confines of their band for the week. In these sessions, kids have a chance to grow and learn about different musical styles from each other. Songwriting seminars from pros, additional master classes, and acoustic concerts round out the evenings. Finally, everyone needs some down time, so recreation, sports, and movies find theiir way into the evenings as well.
